Behind the Beads: Why I Started Beaded & Balanced

There was a time in my life when I felt broken. Not just tired—but deeply worn down. I was healing from an abusive relationship, working nonstop as a single mom of four, and trying to hold everything together while quietly falling apart.

Somewhere in that exhaustion, I made a decision:
I wanted to heal. I wanted to feel whole again.

So I started changing my life one piece at a time.

Finding My Way Back to Me

I began prioritizing my health and lost 45 pounds—not just to look different, but to feel stronger. I discovered affirmations, the law of attraction, and the power of speaking life over myself. I started a nonprofit to help other women like me heal and find community.

And in the stillness of that spiritual journey, I picked up some beads.

I didn’t know then that this simple creative moment would become my daily ritual—and eventually my brand, Beaded & Balanced. But looking back, it makes perfect sense. Every crystal I chose, every knot I tied, every strand I created—it was all part of a prayer. A healing. A rebirth.

From Survival to Sacred Work

What began as a personal ritual has grown into a full line of intentional jewelry, ritual jars, and affirmation tools that help other women heal and reconnect with themselves.

Waist beads were the first thing I made, and they remain the most sacred. In my hands, they became more than adornment—they became a form of spiritual armor. A quiet declaration of self-love and survival.

3 Truths I’ve Learned Along the Way

1. Your pain can birth your purpose.
My journey taught me that healing is never wasted. Everything I’ve gone through allows me to serve other women with more empathy, depth, and truth.

2. Adornment is a spiritual practice.
Wearing jewelry that carries intention, energy, and affirmation is more than fashion—it’s devotion. It’s medicine for the soul.

3. Healing is a process, not a destination.
There’s no magic fix. But with small, sacred steps—like journaling, ritual baths, adorning your body—you begin to feel whole again.
